Hello and Good day!
This is Just Logical and I’m your host, Mason Mieczkowski.
Recently I noticed that people want to contest a point of view but don’t provide anything to support. I can, and if you challenge me, I will prove my educated opinion. I’ll get into the debate I had and what is the difference between opinion and an educated opinion. Without any further ado, let’s get into it!
Alright, so information so one can understand the difference between an educated opinion and a personal opinion. I focus on my point of view and use research to help support my view. If you challenge one’s opinion who has provided research, then you should provide research to counter.
Also, it is important that I look at opposing points of view. Example of such is my more recent post “No More Abortion Laws!,” I used conservative research versus Planned Parenthood. I discuss some back and forth of someone’s personal view with evidence to contest why I believe that view is invalid. I have yet to come by someone who also provides research or proof that is significant. That being said. I had referenced that to obtain a college degree a student is required to research to support their view. I am not bragging I have an MBA and a BA in English to brag; I am advising that I don’t need to be a professional in the field if I know how to read the professional's view. So, people upset over No Masked Airline Flights and one said “I will wear my Mask, Science deniers can’t stop me”
I responded: “no one says you can't, just don't force me. Science is on my side. Infected prior to lockdown. Vaccinated, boosted. Healthy adult with no comorbidities. No damage done from infection.” Another tested my view: “& ummm, science is NOT on your side ... &/or care to fill us all in on how you're one of countries great scientist that has the credentials & intellect to opine on such things”
I stated I researched this, and I am unlikely to be hospitalized or die, I have an MBA and know how to research. He criticized I bragged about the MBA.
Looks like he decided to stop arguing his point as he deleted his post after advising him I wasn’t going to respond to a troll who has no discourse: “that all sounds pretty random & doesn't prove anything about your take on the science, etc ... but glad you feel that you & everyone else is so competent @ assessing risk for themselves ...& you shoulda added "others". not just about you buddy & thanks for showing your ignorance” If you are going to debate me, prove your point. College requires an ability to spend time and energy learning new things and you have to actually look at the references of the research to verify that, and their references, and so on to have a good grasp on your point of view. I could use APA citation style of footnotes; however, I am writing to reach out the regular person. That being said, I post my links right below my comment on research as many people don’t want to scroll to footnotes or reference lists. If you want to debate me, then have your evidence. But, if his argument was to wear a mask, he didn’t make it.
Also, the one who made the comment of preferring wearing a mask didn’t argue my view, and he could have provided some evidence to support why it is still ideal for everyone, but didn’t. Why? Because, I accept his choice. An argument with no support is just an opinion; whereas, an educated opinion is based off research. Why Isn’t My Personal Opinion Good Enough?
